T-shirts showing life-sized exit wounds from an assault weapon

In response to the Orlando gay nightclub massacre, the Boston Globe published an editorial with a straightforward message: “ban these guns.” As the newspaper explains, the “AR-15 assault rifle has the speed, accuracy, and power of no prior civilian weapon, shooting up to 45 rounds per minute.”

Illustrating the power and lethality of assault weapons in stark terms, the hard copy edition shows a picture of a life-sized exit wound from an AR-15.

That demonstration need not be limited to hard copy newspapers. One could easily make t-shirts based on the same concept—turning each wearer into a walking visual reminder of the destruction inflicted by gun violence.
